proposal ♡

  • a written document that you present to a client, outlining how you can help them achieve their goals/create their media product
  • once an outline, idea or concept has been created for an original media product this needs to be documented so that the client can read about it 
A proposal is written in sections that cover different areas, e.g.:
  • aims and objectives
  • target audience
  • resources/ personnel
  • genre
  • content
  • design ideas

  • - advertise

My proposal (practice):

My aim is to create an R'n'B music magazine. It will spread information about the best r'n'b artists, fashion, and music equipment Not only will this draw in readers that are passionate about r'n'b, but it promotes the artists, meaning they will want to be featured. 
  
The target audience will be any gender because r'n'b appeals to both. It is open for any race as r'n'b is quite a diverse genre. Even though most r'n'b artists are african-american, it is enjoyed by every race. The age demographic will be mid-teens to mid twenties as that is the most common age group to listen to r'n'b. The target audience's class will be B(middle class) , which is reflected in the price £3.50. This price is justified because there will be celebrity features and interviews. The target audience's ethnicity will be British as this is where it will be sold. 

The secondary target audience would be an older audience, ages 25-45. This is because r'n'b music tends to have explicit language therefore it will not be suitable for people any younger than the primary target audience. People from this age group are still targeted as it is quite common for them to listen to this genre.

The resources and personnel needed will be  photoshop so it can be edited, for example: adding text, changing the tones and colours and adding photos, a digital camera so photos can be taken, a computer with photoshop on, models to take photos of for the cover and a photographer to take pictures. 

ContentIt will feature some celebrity interviews, specifically r'n'b artists. This will act as cross promotion because it promotes artists as well as the magazine. This is because the artist reaches new audiences in the magazine and will gain new fans and the magazine has a unique selling point because they have exclusive interviews and information about celebrities. Also, loyal fans of celebrities that are featured will purchase the magazine to get new content on their favourite artists when they would not usually. In addition, there will be advertisements for products and brands that not only relate to r'n'b music, but also appeal to the target audience. This will bring a source of income and also generate a new audience that purchase the magazine to find out about new products. There will be new songs that the writers recommend that fit the r'n'b genre

The overall design and vibe will be dreamy, cool toned and heavily inspired by the design choices in the series 'euphoria': this is why the main actor, Zendaya (who's also a massive r'n'b listener), will be on the cover. This is because these colours are very chill and tranquil, similar to r'n'b music. 

I will use this font as it is clear and easy to read so it will entices potential readers. However it has a line through the writing making it trendy and cool, appealing to the target audience's age group.




This font will be used for the cover lines as it is trendy because it is simple and neat. This contrasts to the bold title however it is still clear and easy to read, meaning the name, for example, 'Zendaya' attracts onlookers.







Form There will be around 150 pages. The cover will be printed glossy so it allures potential buyers however the inside will be matte so light does not reflect onto the pages and it is easy to read. The composition will split up the different sections of the magazine. For example, the adverts will be at the front, then some interviews and other content. The USP for the magazine will be that every magazine will come with a new free song readers can download by scanning a QR code. Furthermore, there will be a website for the magazine on the bottom of most pages where readers will find more exclusive content.
